The door lock is operated by alkaline batteries so there’s never any concerns for lock failure if the power goes out.
Depending on usage, batteries will last approximately 8 to 10 months.
Please replace all batteries when the Low Battery indicator appears.
For the push and pull lock doors, please use 8 x AA new Alkaline batteries when replacing.
For turn handle locks, please use 4 x AA new Alkaline batteries.
Please only use Alkaline Batteries. Do not use: Heavy duty, Rechargeable, Lithium or Carbon Zinc batteries. These batteries may cause long term damage to the lock.
There is an outside 9V battery contact point for all Samsung Locks*.
While connecting a 9V (rectangular) battery to the contact point, use your numeric passcode or card to unlock. Once successfully opened, please replace your old batteries with fresh ones.
Override keys are another option of opening the door if the batteries fail**. Key location is at the bottom of the lock.
*Location may vary. Please refer to your manual for placement.
**no mechanical keys for SHS-3321 models.
Your lock may need to be cleaned from time to time. Please use a slightly damp microfiber towel to clean the internal and external unit. Please do not use any harsh chemicals or abrasives as it will damage the lock.
